Central Air

29Jun08

Yesterday we signed a contract for installing central air through the Home Depot (simular to a dutch Gamma). We based our decision on Home Depot’s “no payments for 12 months” option. Which means we don’t have to pay for the installation in full for the next year, without penalties. Our other guy had a simular price but couldn’t offer any financing program. Since we have plenty of other things to do in the house i think we made the right decision.

The Home Depot has partnered with TRANE and that will be the brand central air unit installed in the house. The local installation company contracted by the Home Depot sounded very knowlegdable and we felt very confident with this company. We also thought it would be best to pay to get the most economical efficient unit, which is the L19. (you have a range from 13-19, 19 the most efficient). This unit will also be silent, which is nice to the neighboors since the unit will be placed to the side and back of the sunroom.

Installation should take place in the next 2 weeks (they first have to get a permit for placing the unit outside) And they promised it would be done within 2 days! our other guys told us up to 7 days… Only thing left for us is to pay our montly bill over the next 12 months and avoid penalties.
