We closed on Davis June 5th , 2008. The house has a first and second floor, basement and attic. First floor has a livingroom with fireplace, a dinningroom, kitchen, a sunroom and the drinking room (the second sunroom). Second floor has 2 big bedrooms, one small and a full bathroom. Two of the bedrooms will be converted to work studios. The attic is unfinished and needs insulation. The basement has a washroom, living/media room, bedroom and a full bath. Previous owners has to rip out a wall which they converted into a bedroom. Eventually we will redo the basement and make it a nice guest suite.

First things first we started ripping out the carpet from the upstairs bedrooms. We didn’t see the hardwood floors yet and to our surprise they are in pretty good shape. The house has steam radiators so there was some damage through leakage by the base of the radiators. Replacing the damaged wood and sanding should fix those floor and make them look like new. We are plannning on doin this after the summer.

After ripping out the carpet i started preparing the window stills and trims for painting. We won’t finish the bedroom since we will be waiting till after the summer to sand the hardwood floors. To our suprise we found out that our Queensize bed won’t fit through the staircase and we are looking for ideas to get our bed upstairs! For now we made the sunroom into our bedroom.
